Provides for the cost of long-term care beyond a predetermined period. Long-term care insurance covers care generally not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

Also referred to as Medicare Part B. Part B is optional, but a monthly premium is required in order to receive this coverage. It is offered to all beneficiaries when they enroll in Part A. Provides health coverage for individuals and families when a temporary need arises, ie: between jobs, college graduate, in lieu of COBRA (if no pre-existing conditions), or coverage during waiting period on new employer’s plan. 

Provides benefits that are paid directly to the policyholder for expenses due to an illness or accident. Benefits are predetermined and paid regardless of any other health insurance.

Pays benefits in the event that the policyholder becomes incapable of working.
